What is more important, to be happy or to be satisfied ?

At times we have to make some decisions that don't satisfy us but we have no other choice but to compromise and at times we just do things to be happy n compromise the satisfaction, what's your take on it ?

How could one be happy without being satisfied? You need to be satisfied to at least some degree to be happy, else you could not be. Its like, happiness has certain levels, so it depends on the level of satisfaction. If you are completely satisfied, you are at the maximum level of happiness. Plus, you can still be happy when you are somewhat satisfied. If you can’t be happy because you want something and you do not have it, than be happy on what you already have. That is why our religion even says to stay in “halat-e-tashakur”, if you will keep expressing your gratitude even for the small things in your life, you will see that you are satisfied with what you have and you will be happy as well.

That depends on what kind of a person you are. If you are "live in the moment" kind of person then you might prefer happiness and if you are "right or wrong" kind of person then you might prefer satisfaction.
Life is all about tests. You won't be getting these feelings at the same time, not always. But there are ways to be happy and satisfied at the same time. Life is all about improving yourself everyday.

There is a saying "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." I, personally, believe in this strongly.
Regarding tests I cannot explain very well but in general making others happy, making Allah happy is just a test, the biggest test because for this you have to multiply yourself with zero to do all this...so your happiness and satisfaction is just a hurdle to clear those tests

I actually think that satisfaction is a prerequisite for happiness. :) So, satisfaction is more important. Without it, happiness cannot happen. Seriously.

Actually 1st you have to know how you define these both words ..''Happiness'' and ''Satisfaction '' the meanings of both words ..How you see them..What is Happiness and what is Satisfaction to YOU?? while asking a meaning of those words you will act get your answer..
If you see thm 2 diff words ..thn comes 2nd question what is more IMP to you..? being happy or being Satisfied?
somehow I feel that (in this) 'question' has fears too...Happy ..but not satishfied..coz of fears..those fears wont let you to be satisfied...
For me ...if some 1 is satisfied he/she is Happy too...but agn its all about How you see..how you feel..!!

The who is satisfied will always be happy. Satisfaction is the state where you are happy on the things you have in your life.

Happiness or satisfaction is derived from getting a certain outcome of a certain something. So happiness is something that you acquire when you get the exact outcome you were looking for, and satisfaction is the feeling when you are actually not happy as the word may literally suggest, but got the least desirable outcome.
Contentment on the other hand is the act of being satisfied and thus derive your happiness from it, even if the outcome fell short of your desires. So in that case you can be both satisfied and happy.
I hope that explains atleast something.

i think "to be satisfied" ..because satisfaction in anyway.. leads to happiness.. but but happy don't mean u're satisfied.

What is more important, to be happy or to be satisfied ?
