Why can't we get a driving license at the age of 16 in Pakistan whereas in USA you can?

I would love to drive and learn driving. I want a license when I reach 16 but have to wait till 18.

does it matter, we have seen 14 year olds drive havent we :P
i have been driving from being 18 to 21 years of age without the license. .. the license then arrived at my doorstep, without me doing anything... but i never drove after that... i left pak after 3 days.
being lazy about obtaining a license is something which i feel i should have not done... but anyhow, in pak without a license... who cares :(
i have heard one can get a learning license kinda thingy before turning 18.. which counts as a license, but i am not sure if this is correct info.

oops... wrongs wordings.. i failed to notice it was barry asking :P.. seems like somebody is desperate to drive :D.
dont drive without a license btw. if you hit someone, things can go really bad if you dont have it. the legal stuff gets piled against you even if its not your fault, driving without license makes it legally your fault to start with.
do look into the learning license thingy... the thing might be true

In Pakistan, they make the driving licence on bases of NIC and you get your NIC when you're 18 or above, I dun knw about USA, maybe they have some other system for Identity ducument where the age number is different.

Well in majority states in USA you only get a restricted licence when you're 16 and don't get the full license unless you're 18 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver's_license_in_the_United_States

coz its the rule .. though it is not being followed .. ppl at the age of 12 are driving the cars ... and some of the ppl which are above 18 are also not bothered to make a licensee for themselves ... !
so its not a big deal to reduce the age ... ! ppl will do what they are doing ... ! it wont affect ..!

Go to Saudi Arabia. U can get a license at age 16
There. But the issue is women can't drive there. So wait till ur 17, and get a learners license. They say u have a limited speed but who cares, it's Pakistan x'D.
