Threads in C++ what is, Howto, anyref needed

Hey me fellow computerers. me is back.
i need to use some threads that waits for a previously created event object to go signaled. and that too using a windows sync func... with anything would also do.

Problem!!!
i have only rudimentary knowledge of threads and have never used them. C++ aint have no intrinsic threads support i have read.. and the way people on the internet use them are confusing.

i dont want no details from you, but can anyone give me a source about how can i grasp this thing..

m sorry for me noobieness, but if my understanding level is even a little beyond by what you can infer from the above statements, then i am usually resourceful enough to get through.
