UK mein job scene kiya hai for... a) A Pakistan-educated Software Engineer b) a UK-educated ACCA degree holder

UK - a very competitive and tough market. Its very rare to get your job done there unless you have unusual skillset, which UK companies certainly looking for. Eventually, there's criteria of selection is not like what we usually found in Pakistan companies.

You will not believe but I must share that Pakistan is an ideal place for software engineers. If I tell you, Pakistan is paying well enough to software engineers which europeans are not in their own country. So, what they are doing is outsourcing their small and big projects to south asia region, India and Pakistan but especially Pakistan, just because they trust on. Pakistani companies provide exactly what they want. I personally belong to IT industry. And I had a chance to work with them on freelance even.

I'm a student of ACCA. An ACCA degree holder is basically an accountant and if you guys ponder about it then you'd know that it's an accountant -- in most organisations -- who finally signs your pay cheque and hence it's an accountant who's paid more. Unfortunately, in Pakistan, ACCAs aren't being given the respect they deserve but in UK and all Middle Eastern countries their demand is high and they're paid more too. Having said that, let's not forget that in Pakistan you usually need *sifarish* to get a job. There's no justice here and no one's given a job on the basis of pure merit. Even if a person gets a job on merit - it's luck, and, it happens rarely.

dunno about an acca degree holder... but where on earth can you see a software engineer jobless!!
in my view programmers (assuming software engineer = programmer) are high in demand, and in Europe they pay good... well at least in Germany
even the retail superstore chains want them (for God knows what)..
but normally i have seen students doing masters here first, but the job selection criteria is the experience with stuff. like giving you a bunch of C codes and then giving you 30 mins to identify and clear all the errors etc.

Dnt knw about uk but in america u can earn 66000 dollers a year which os to much as a software developer
