You know that we made a world record today 5,857 people said our national anthem in Karachi , n before that Phillipine was on the record...so its a best birthday gift to our beloved country Pakistan ever =)

due to some political, logical and personal reasons, i remain indifferent. its a huge discussion and i guess not worthy of being disscussed on this occasion.
that being said, just in case anybody is getting judgemental, for me everyday is pak day.

To be very honest, not very excited, its just like any other day for me... coz I dnt need a special day to boost up my patriotism and show it to the world...
Instead I get a lil indifferent, completely agree to what Ali said, every day is Pakistan day and every day should be... :)

Yes I am excited :) but we should be equally excited on every other day.. Pakistan don't only need our love and support on only 14th August

Cum on everyday is pakistan day , but today is Independence Day !!!! We need to be excited about this day and yes be patriotic everyday but don't go from one extreme to another.
It's like saying everyday is special so ur birthday isn't important!

And Alizeh we can't compare birthdays with independence day, coz 'patriotism' is the factor we are considering...and one can be patriotic with a country not for an individual.. ;)

extremes as in swinging from pendulum to another: like everyday is Pakistan day to not being excited on Independence day. The metaphor was to illustrate the similarity between the birth of a new era where people are free from tyrants,have the ability to practice their religion without restriction or apprehension of fear,to not be a minority but an equal ,and in that context it's Pakistan's birthday.
Not literally comparing a country to an individual.:)

Someone once told me that the best way to celebrate 14th August was to Pray for our country. We Pray for ourselves & our families every day, but I dont think many of us take the time out for Pakistan. Sadly, all some people do is waste money on firecrackers and showing off their motorbiking skills, lol :D
Allah hum subko Hidayat dey aur Pakistan ko Istehkaam aur Taraqqi bakshay.

it's cool actually. :D Saw quite a few last night and tonight.
And we pray for pakistan almost everyday! Because we cant forget the kashmiri brothers and sisters suffering can we? I think ppl here pray for Pakistan alot, for it's prosperity to e safe from enemies internal and external and for it's prosperity!!

i celebrated it by wearing green clothes and chit chat with my cousins all day ..watch some special dramas on independence day and enjoyed the RAIN as well ...!
