Does Urdu writing have a few letters which look different than Arabic letters?

Yes .. We have many alphabets which are different from Arabic. Arabic has total 28 letters while Urdu has 38. It also includes some Persian alphabets. This is the list http://www.omniglot.com/writing/urdu.htm

Arabic, Persian n Urdu, they all have same letters look wise but with some addition and subtraction as Nabeeha has mentioned. For example, there is no " P " (urdu - Pe) in arabic so they call Bakistan instead of Pakistan.

Urdu is the mixture of different languages and arabic is one of them so there are many letters in urdu which are not in arabic ... the ABCD of urdu and arabic differs as well in some alphabets ... !
