How can I learn how to dance?

You should try Bhaangra,no preparations needed,it is just like patting your dad with one hand and engaging the second to fit a bulB-)

well! it used to be an embarrassment whenever i was dragged into the dance floor. but not anymore.
all it takes is some practice, and i had plenty of it in the final days in giki when the guys danced in every place from the tomb to the hostels roof, to the sports center.
for a start imagine you have a random signal generator in your every joint. with time, in matter of days, it syncronizes by itself. for me it was like learning to ride a bicycle. and using a mirror also helps to fine tune things.

view some easy steps on youtube and try to absorb it ... through practice u can learn it ... ! there are some videos which are meant to teach dancing ... go for those ... !

I've figured that the best way to start is:

1) Join a dance academy (which Kanwal might be opening very soon :p )
OR
2) Watch tonnes of Youtube home-made bhangra videos till you start getting the hang of it... Read Ali Iqbal's tips above, they're good.

And when you think you're getting good at it, remember to first give a demo to a friend or sibling before making an entry on the dance floor... lest you might invoke an elders' disgust, lol :D

Guess what I can do Bhangra! Well its been so long, we haven't had any marriage in our family, i usually practice it on marriages! :P

And some days back i learned dance moves on "O Main tou aiween aiweeen lutt gya!" LOL

By watching the original video of the song! Watched it thousands of times and than practiced it in absence of my flat mates! :P
