Thanks for replying, wee an other reply says that it happened in the time of Zia ul Haq, or maybe It was not declared as national dress before 1970s.

Zia-ul-haq Enforced it as a only mode of dressing in his dictatorship period all in offices nation wide people whr forced to wear shalwar kameez but it was declared our national dress at the time of Quid-e-azam who came up with the conncept and declared it as national dress .

Yea its not related with Islam.. Long loose gowns comes closest to Islamic dressing

@Nabeha and @Zainab: The form of that long gown is almost same as Shalwar Suit... The difference is the only length.
