Is it true that teachers/professors in Pakistan are not well paid?

I often get to hear that they are not (while bearing in mind the role they play in general).

I too thought that PhD scholars are not that well paid considering how much effort and amount of money they have put into their education and in teaching others.
So you mean to say that Pakistani scholars are not well paid, but others around the world are well paid?
