What are we suppose to do on death anniversaries ?

and in Pakistan I have heard, people do a lot of things like sadqas or quran khwani etc( and what else they do ?)
Is that the right way according to Islam ?

Sadaqa or Quran Khwani has sadly become a ritual and not for remembrance. This should be done regularly and not on a specific day. Actually you search the whole Islamic history and no single day is given importance over the other. All are important, except for Eid and Bakri-Eid.

I think you should everything which you like and think that it could help the person after life in a form of sawab. Actions are judged by intension.

we should send more sawab to the person as much as we can .. its not only for the death anniversary we should do this quite often ...!

Yes.. Quran khwani was never practiced in our Islamic history and like Aaquib said, we can specify days to sadqas except for Eid and Bakhra Eid. I am honestly not in favor of both of them

The only way that the Shariah asks us to send blessings to the deceased is through Isaal Thawaab through any normal form of worship like Salat, Fasting, Sadaqaat, but they should not be done by organizing a gathering of any type but should be an individual act.

There are many ahadiths where upon hearing the news of the passing away of one Sahabi RadiALLAAHU Anhu, the other Sahabi RadiALLAAHU Anhu recited INNA LILLAAHI WA INNA ILAYIHI RAJIYEEOON and then prayed 2 Rakat Nafil and then asked ALLAAH Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to forgive the Sahabi RadhiALLAAHU Anhu that had died.

On other occasion, we read that the Sahaba RidwanULLAAHI Alayihim Ajmaeen recited some portion of the Quran and gave the Thawaab of that to one of their partner who had died.
