What do you think about reorganizing Categories on Jawab?

We just crossed 4000 posts in total and it seems that the categories (and tags) system could do with a little revamp. The categories were actually selected from other websites and changed to fit, what we thought at that time, our needs. However now it seems it might be more useful to go through the current questions and figure out different categories (perhaps less in number but more to do with the type of questions we get).

Here are some examples "Social issues", "Government processes", "Education", "Career and Business", "Current Events"...

You guys, our community, have been amazing with the progress Jawab has made! So, what do you suggest? Does categories (and tagging) need a revamp? If yes, what categories would you suggest. Or if you have a completely different idea, that would be awesome!

A: No, I think the current categories are good. Most of the questions on jawab deal with:
- Religion
- Business, Career
- Education
- Technology
- Sports
- Health: diet, food corner/restaurants
- Current affairs/events
- Entertainment: Music, Tv, Films etc.

Q: Or if you have a completely different idea, that would be awesome!
A: At the moment, when someone asks a question, s/he must 'tag' that question. What could be introduced is an extra option to choose a category and a sub-category, with limited options available.

Example:
Category: Food
Sub-category: Fruits
tags: tropical fruits, mango

Give us the drop down box for the categories. So that we could precise our post and it also helps you managing different posts.

Yes they need to be more organized and I liked the examples which u gave. You should add those categories which fit in with the type of questions on Jawab.

hmmmmm... u will need a moderator to assign different tags to categories..

First of all awesome logo. Liked it a lot. Has a lot of youth feel to it. The categories part, as you have enlisted above all are apt, my addition would be Technology (views and reviews , troubleshooting etc..).

Yes, I like the idea ! it wud give an organized look to jawab and will be easy for users to search according to their requirements. why dun you add a category "Islam" as you can see there are many questions users are asking related to Islam? And pls stick to basic categories, about 5-6.
P.S: what you mean by tagging here? .. sub forums ?

Thanks Zainab :) Yup that sounds like a good idea.
By "tagging" I mean the "tags" you have to put when you ask a new question.

Yupz dat would be a great idea to enhance the categories dashboard and add variety of different nd interesting categories to it... It wud be more fun den, it will be exciting and interesting as well den ever before...!! :)

What about, after you write the question, you get relevant categories option?
Or you might make it, category and sub-category or category and tags. This will simplify search more as sub-category or tags would help when there will be trillions of questions on Jawab.pk :)

There should be a selection of categories to choose from before submitting the question, just like in Yahoo Answers.
