What does the term free gift mean? Aren’t all gifts supposed to be free?

Perhaps when someone you know gives it to you its called gift. If you are getting it at some place like a market, then its a free gift

In day to day life, word free gift is never used because gifts are suppose to be free :)
Free gift is a term used by advertiser to attract customers. They do that because word 'free' persuades human mind easily and thus they tend to buy those products/services more which are associated with 'free gifts'

Gifts are always Free ... may be the Free Gift means that the person giving gift got it for free Like morning show hosts gave free sponsored gifts ...!

if ure getting it from a guest/friend etc then its free. but if your getting a gift from a show or a restaurant then its not a free gift,because they freaking charge you for it
