yes Umera Ahmad n Ashfaq Ahmad r both awsum writers!
there r many other writers as well such as Naseem Hijazi, A Hameed, Quratulain Hadar, Imtiaz Ali Taaj and many others bt as ur sayng dat ur urdu vocab isnt gud so u should start with Quratulain Hadar Umera Ahmad and Imtiaz Ali Taaj... it also depends on da type of da buks u want to read so if u need any help ur more den welcum =)

Well, I hope Quratulain Hadar Umera Ahmad does not get offended reading this, especially if she considers her Urdu to be of high standard :O :p Or perhaps, she could take it as a compliment, that her message is understood by everyone who tries to read her work, since she writes in simple language. I will inshaAllah have a look at these authors and try to get hold of a book to start with :) Thanks for the offer as well!

Oh well, even Umera Ahmad and Quratul Ain Haider's urdu is relatively easy to understand for example, umera ahmed, She writes abt social/family issues, dun know Sumi, u wud like to read it or not : ) http://umeraahmed.weebly.com/

no i guess their main purpose is that everyone understand there work n stuff =P yes do n im a huge fan of urdu authors n books so i can also guide you through all types of urdu books =)
umm yes Zainab she does write about social/family issues but still they are interesting! and Sumi if u dont like these kind of books i can tell u about other type of writers too.. my collection on urdu buks and authors is pretty big :)

Ashfaq Ahmed... His writings are full of wisdom and inspiration MashAllah... "Zawaiya" is one of my favourite book... :)

Yeah videos of Ashfaq Ahmed's tv program 'Zawiya' are there on youtube... You can watch them over there... :) samajh tu ati hai na urdu?

ziada mushkil Urdu samaj main nahe atee (vocab issues), but otherwise duh! :p For instance, I don't even know what 'Zawiya' means.

Umera Ahmad, The only writer I have read LOL I liked this novels "Peer e Kamil" and Amarbail.
