Can we use solar energy in Pakistan?

of course, they are very beneficial in long term. in Baluchistan its a very sunny

well, it's very easy to have solar panels these days. in my country, even public schools get their own solar panels... so long as the local government makes it a project. on the other hand... i think the availability of solar panels in pakistan is not so popular. you may have to source it abroad. it's easy to Google about solar stuff, anyway. :) maybe you can ask some engineers here.

Yes... There are many companies in Pakistan who is providing the solutions in solar energy but there is heavy investment i think if you want to support everything in your house through solar panels. I mean ACs, Deep Freezers, TV etc... These products consumes more electricity than anything else in your home. Maintainance cost is high for solar panels. But it can be very useful in current energy crisis in Pakistan.

yesh if the government hands some money to Pakistan. Then we can solar panels and use solar energy.

Let’s not forget that solar energy increases the value of your home/office too. Solar power is not subject supply and demand fluctuations in the way that gas is. Silicon, the primary component of solar panels, is also being more widely produced in Pakitsan, therefore, less and less expensive with each passing year. But however maintenance cost is negotiable over high end electricity bills. As in Pakistan, not many areas r clouded, all most thru out Pakistan we get a clear sky 365 - 24/7 ... so its our government responsibility to take notice ASAP as the current power crises going towards its worst limits else, be prepared to tackle more dangerous conditions... May Allah bless us all !

yes, it will be helpful in many areas ... atleast we can have solar light system ... ! i can see make streets lights ON in day light as well :S

Stand-Alone Solar PV Systems (For Home use) :

The benefit is "FREE ELECTRICITY FOR LIFE" with only battery-maintenance cost as Solar Panels don't need any maintenance at all.

The problem is its TOO COSTLY. I have been in this industry so I can tell a normal system for home could cost you around more than 20 Lakh Rupees (>2000000) !!!! the reason are taxes n Govt. (unlike EU countries) not giving any incentives to adopt Solar. And also no indigenous/local manufacturing + Poverty.

Another problem is you can consume a limited amount of Electricity each day, since power generation and consumption is on daily basis.

Yeah, i think we should use solar energy in Pakistan. There are many small projects, like different solar energy parks, which are there to provide awareness about solar energy and its uses. We should go for them, in order to save our resources.

Of course, and it is a great alternative. Though, some lobbies within the establishment is avoiding that, for reasons that are controversial. But individually, or collectively, this feat can be promoted throughout the country.
