Honestly, I cannot really give you a proper answer to your question. Sorry for that. But, allow me to still share some thoughts.
Nowadays one is supposed to have a good education. What is a 'good' education? Does it have to do with the kind of degree you have: Bachelors, Masters, etc.? Or do we go even further as in what subjects you have specialized in, so that it is not only Bachelors - but Bachelors of Arts, of Social Sciences, MSc, MA, MBA, etc.? Does it have to do with the university you took your courses in? Does it have to do with your grades? Does it have to do with the time you invested in your studies (a 3/4/5 year course for your Bachelors)? Does it include your other activities as well: Do you work? Did you do internship? Are you member of some organization, etc.?
How much of this 'good' education actually matters in our society? - It is a necessity in order to have access to good jobs with decent salaries, which again is necessary so that you can provide your family with basic necessities and think of getting settled. The quality and quantity of your education somehow is supposed to reflect your intellectual level, how capable and ambitious you are, how well-off you are and the list goes on. It is, in short, a status symbol as well as a luxury for many (something many could only dream of).
Question: Why do we study? And why do we study what we study? Is education and money the problem or is it the time factor which is more crucial? Nowadays, it takes longer to finish your studies - at least, where I live, it takes quite long! People mostly are focused on studying particular subjects, because they seem to believe that the future lies in those fields. Does it?
