How many famous painters do we have in Pakistan?

I'm working on a assignment where I have to search for the world famous artists of all the time, that made me think how many painters do we have in our country? except gulji or many I'm not aware of them.

Isn't "art" been neglected in my country badly? why is so? art is an great medium to portray a softer image intentionally then why dun we produce such great artists?

So many, Let me write some of them:

Ajaz Anwar- A distinguished painter of Pakistan. He was a teacher at National College of Arts Lahore. His watercolour paintings show the grandeur of the old buildings and the cultural life in Lahore.

Prof. Mian Ijaz ul Hassan- A Pakistani painter. He studied at Aitchison College and later read English for his master’s degree at Government College Lahore and St. John’s College, Cambridge. He studied painting at the Fine Arts Department of Punjab University and St. Martin’s School of Art, London. Ijaz is recipient of the President’s award for Pride of Performance, the highest Pakistani award in the field of art.

Munwar Abro- An award-winning Pakistani newspaper political cartoonist and illustrator who has worked for the Pakistani newsmagazine Newsline amongst other publications. In 2006, the All Pakistan Newspapers Society named him as the winner of the award for Best Cartoon at their annual awards ceremony.

Deceased are: Ahmed SaeedNagi (1916-2006), Eqbal Mehdi, (April 1, 1946, – May 19, 2008), Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi..

Thanks, I wish I cud have seen this answer before submitting my assignment, I only wrote about Gul gee. Actually, I had to do on famous artists from different parts of the world, So I choose Gul gee and M.F Hussain from Asia but it's still worth to read, thanks once again.
