Im not going to join any political party. I wanted to take some opinions. Many of you might not agree but IMO, i think PML-N would be better than others, I was a fan of Imran Khan but what he has been doing from last few months has changed my mind.

thanks all for suggestions!

True ... That should be the basis of voting ... We must not vote on the basis of Slogans etc ... But also a little study about the party's agenda, credibility, past performance, their leaders and workers personalities etc should be done before casting your vote ...

And Young educated people Must vote. This time people's party won by 10million votes in a population of 170million so we can imagine whats the total voter turnout, and majority of votes come from villages. And in recent Turkish elections the turnout was 87% !!!

Words are so precious - no less than a powerful weapon. They have the ability to trick people and can be played with easily. Empty promises hold no meaning. Anyone could make a list of general problems Pakistani face in their own country and start addressing them temporarily to get attention from citizens and win their loyalty. We need people who realize and understand what potential Pakistan as a country and its people have - someone who uses this potential rightly, rathe rthan misuse it.
Obligatory voting could be a good option, but then again - we are likely to face "problems" therein as well.
In today's world, trust is the biggest issue.

well for that, we need to look at the past performances of different parties, none are perfect though. But practically these are the only options that we have. They might not be honest but yeah they are capable of doing anything if they become loyal to Pakistan or otherwise if their interests are aligned with our National Interests.

Currently, they feel secure as their voters never judge their performances and any threat from other parties is taken care of by raising racial issues and blame games. But if the cities take over villages for voters turn out and we judge them through performance then of course to grab votes they will do whatever we demand.

There should be a proper demand in form of a charter and they should be given a deadline and a threat of revolution otherwise (which is unlikely to happen). And Unlike other countries our military plays an important role in politics and is not completely under government so there are very less chances of military crushing civilians instead they can be expected to stand with people and exert pressure on government.

All we need to do is to learn to use things in our favor and take a step!

Yeah I agree with you.. But firstly we need to get rid of all these corrupted parties who work for only their personal interests and fool us
Nabeha | 13 years ago
yup.. and there is an easy way too. If we as a nation instead of focusing on (regional politics, slogan dialogues) look at the bigger picture "Pakistan" and before voting raise question what policies each party has regarding Economy, safety & security, education, health, foreign relations, strategic interests, terrorism and how will they implement it and in what time frame. And what has been there past performance. Then it will turn the tides of these political parties too, because to gain votes they will have to show progress and efficiency. But unfortunately, people in cities don't go for voting and their vote banks are in villages where there is no awareness and they only think Mera Sayeein, Mera Chaudhry, Mera Sardar... and the game ends..
